Immunity
2.1: Phagocytisis

The phagocyte will move towards the pathogen as the pathogen produces chemicals that the pahgocyte is attracted to

The phagocyte membrane will begin to invaginate (Engulf) the pathogens

As the pathogen is swallowed, the phagocyte forms a vesicle around the pathogens and the lysosomes move closer

The lysosomes join the vesicle and release hydrolytic enzymes to hydrolize (Break down using water) the pathogen. The reminents are then absorbed into the cytoplasm
Information:
1) Phagocytosis is a non-specific and rapid response to any foreign material that enters our body.

2) The term non-specific means that it does not discriminate against the type of pathogen and it will attack anything that enters our body if it comes across it.

3) The phagocytes are in the capillaries in the body and during an infection the capillaries will become "leaky" and allow phagocytes to squeeze through and go to the affected area

Meet Gordito the phagocyte:

A phagocyte is a type of white blood cell vital in the process above (Phagocytosis if you have amnesia).

They can be be polymorphs (to our left) or macrophages
This less than happy criter is a pathogen just looking for a home and a friend!

A pathogen: is a micro-organism which can cause a disease

Now whys he so mad 24/7?

A) In all my comics he gets beat up or eaten

and B) he causes disease
